I can help you rise up in greater resilience
Welcome to a space where healing and positive growth can be made possible. I’m glad you’re here.
As a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) with a doctorate in psychology (PsyD), I confidently advocate that life challenges and mental health struggles need NOT hold you back from striving toward your dreams. Psychological struggles like PTSD, depression, anxiety, and trauma are improved with the adequate mindset and practical strategies you can learn in therapy. I aim to help you navigate the journey toward emotional freedom and greater resilience.
The ability to heal and grow exists within all of us. In therapy, I provide a safe space and guidance to empower you to find your strengths to break free from negative mind habits.
I’m honored to stand by your side and support your transformation toward a future that feels hopeful and fulfilling for you.
I chose this profession because I truly believe in the possibility of attaining positive change through nurturing support. Mental health problems are human conditions gone awry; nurturing care can illuminate possibilities for healthier coping and, at times, lead to full recovery.
I specialize in helping adults navigate the emotional and psychological challenges of trauma exposure, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and CPTSD. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families to manage communication and relational struggles and develop stronger connections and healthier coping strategies.
I integrate different treatments for individualized plan of action that suits the person.
My education started with my interest in the science of human biology in my undergrad. I completed the master of science in marriage and family therapy, becoming a MFT licensed therapist as a result. Later, I attained my Doctorate in psychology.
In addition to my formal schooling, my extensive interest in neuroscience and interpersonal neurobiology has me acquire ongoing training. I am always honing my skills in different therapeutic modalities. I especially seek evidence-based treatments and theories that honor the powers of human nature to flourish in an emotionally nurturing, safe environment. These are the conditions I aim to create for each person.
I have received extensive training at the trauma treatment center, where I gained years of invaluable experience working with individuals, couples, and families, survivors of a range of different traumas. I helped many attain positive transformation and regain hope about their future. These experiences instilled within me the belief that healing potentials remain intact despite life experience and, when flourished, can help with overcoming suffering. This belief fuels my dedication, motivation, and passion for my career.
My therapeutic stance is integrative, meaning I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, grounded in cognitive behavioral principles, others psychoanalytic, and much influenced by the mind and body attuned views as prescribed in interpersonal neurobiology theories. I intend to use varying strategies to ensure the best fit for individuals' needs, preferences, and access. I am informed in mindfulness, family system, EMDR, attachment, polyvegal, DBT, ACT, and IFS. This wide range of modalities provides an extensive tool kit of strategies to draw from to address the uniqueness of individuals' needs.
Healing from trauma is possible but often requires extensive patience and skills, as the work demands delicate attention and especially safe interaction. Access to a range of therapeutic toolsets improves the probabilities to create new possibilities of a healing experience that restores the sense of trust that was uprooted by trauma and renew the sense of hope in healing.
Healing is a moment-to-moment process, much like navigating a labyrinth—its path is not always clear, and obstacles may remain unseen until encountered. Success in such a journey requires the right mindset and strategic planning, ensuring the necessary resources are available along the way.
Therapy follows a similar principle. We cannot always predict what may surface in treatment, but having a range of effective resources creates the safety needed to navigate unforeseen challenges. My approach is client-centered, meaning you remain in charge of your healing journey while I take a supportive role—offering guidance, therapeutic insights, and access to helpful resources. I integrate different theoretical perspectives and strategies to tailor a plan that suits your specific needs. You are in control; my role is to guide and support you every step of the way.
Finding the right therapeutic fit is essential for a meaningful and lasting healing experience. Clients should feel that therapy is a space where they want to be, which is why I encourage active engagement. I welcome curiosity and invite you to ask questions whenever you have doubts. My primary goal is to ensure that our interaction remains a safe and supportive experience. In therapy, safety takes precedence—even over confidentiality—though I am deeply committed to maintaining your privacy. However, if there is a clear risk to your safety or that of others, I am legally and ethically obligated to take necessary steps to protect you.
I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT). Additionally, I incorporate mindfulness-based approaches, attachment-focused strategies, family systems theory, neurobiological insights, and somatic (mind-body) techniques to create a well-rounded treatment experience.
Healing trauma often requires both top-down (cognitive & behavioral) and bottom-up (mind-body) processing to restore a renewed sense of trust in oneself and others. Current trauma research suggests that healing extends beyond simply retelling painful experiences—unless that is what a client finds helpful. Neuroscientific advancements emphasize empowering self-experiences to reshape neural pathways, allowing the brain to move beyond old trauma responses. Corrective experiences play a crucial role in replacing painful memories, fostering empowerment, and dissolving the lingering effects of trauma. This principle forms the foundation of many integrative, trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR, DBT, ACT, polyvagal theory, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy.
I strive to provide personalized care that honors each individual’s unique journey. Please know that everything shared in treatment remains confidential, except in cases where legal or ethical obligations regarding safety arise. If you ever have questions or concerns, I welcome open dialogue to ensure that your therapeutic journey feels safe, empowering, and transformative.
The individual therapy sessions are intended to help with working toward tailored goals. All sessions are online/virtual, meaning you can work with me from the comfort of your home or any space that is accessible to you, so long as it is safe and private for you.
Family therapy sessions focus on improving communication, resolving conflicts, and strengthening relationships within your family. I work with families of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds.
In group therapy sessions, individuals with similar goals practice healthy and supportive socialization. The group collaboration becomes impactful due to the shared experiences of difficulties and the exploration of healthy means to overcome challenges.
At this time, I only offer virtual/online therapy services. These interactions are made through secure and confidential teletherapy systems that are prearranged depending on our work method. Should it become apparent that virtual therapy isn't helpful, I am happy to provide referrals.
